Concussions are always a possibility when participating in contact sports. In addition to a pre-season physical, student athletes should establish a concussion baseline. This testing is essential for managing an injured athletes's safe return to competitive play. Should a head injury occur, on-file baseline tested results can be accessed easily and read by your family doctor. Aurora Sports Medicine Institute's concussion screening program includes both: Cogstate Baseline neurocognitive (formerly Axon Sports) and Biodex Balance System assessment.
Elkhart-Glenbeulah High School will be participating gin the baseline concussion screening through the licensed Athletic Trainers of Aurora Sports Medicine Institute of Sheboygan.
ALL SPORTS -- fall, winter, and spring -- will be tested during this time. You only need to take the baseline test once per year. (i.e.- if you play football and basketball, you do not need to take it a second time for basketball season.)
Testing will be competed as follows:
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27th from 9:00am to 12:00 pm
and / or
MONDAY, JULY 16th from 11:00am to 2:00pom
Baseline testing will take place in the computer lab at the ELGHS.
