Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Families of Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Elementary and Middle School:

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as your new principal. My name is Jeanne Courneene and I am honored to serve as principal for the elementary and middle schools where both schools have rich traditions of educational excellence. I want to extend a warm greeting to everyone and I look forward to working alongside all of you during the school year.

I would like to take this opportunity to share a little about myself. I obtained a bachelor’s degree in education from Northern Michigan University, a master’s degree in administrative leadership from Butler University, and a PhD in educational leadership from Marian University. I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than 25 years. I have worked with students ranging in age from Kindergarten through 12th grade. I have served as a 7th grade science teacher, a physical education teacher, and an assistant principal. Most recently, I served as the middle school principal and district administrator for the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District. My experiences as a middle school teacher, assistant principal, principal, and district administrator have allowed me to pursue my passion in helping all students obtain a meaningful and equitable education.

I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much about the uniqueness of the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah school community. It is my goal to be known by each student in the school and to work with students, staff, and parents to make the school a terrific place to learn and work. Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you need anything. I look forward to meeting you very soon.

Jeanne Courneene, PhD
Elementary/Middle School Principal
