Congratulations to Resorter Wrestler Max Ward for his 139 career win which breaks Brock Bonebrake’s record of 137 career wins. This record has a very special meaning for Max because Brock has been a mentor in the wrestling room to Max. Brock has been working with Max the last 3 seasons to make Max a better wrestler. For Max, It is not as much about breaking the old record as it is joining Kyle Rentmeester and Brock Bonebrake as some of the most successful wrestlers in school history. With the record behind him now, Max will now focus on the other goals he had set at the beginning of the season.

Resorting to Knock Out Cancer Resorting to Knockout Cancer

The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah High School FBLA teamed up with the Pink Heals of Sheboygan County for three events to raise money to help families in need who are battling cancer. During the week of January 8th all money raised from the wrestling dual and boys and girls basketball went to the Pink Heals. The mission of the Pink Heals is to help families currently battling cancer by spreading love and assisting with a financial need if they are currently in treatment. If there is a greater need, they will assist with a fundraiser, food, or clothing drive to help. Another neat thing Pink Heals does is home visits where they bring a pink fire truck to your house for you to see up close and help support the family with love and encouragement.  Teaming up with the Pink Heals has helped our FBLA members give back to the community, show empathy and compassion, and be “Servant Leaders”.

District Continues To Receive “Exceeds Expectations” Ratings In 2017 DPI Release DPI

On November 21, the Wisconsin Department of Instruction released report cards for all public school districts in the state.  Copies of the report cards for each of our individual schools and the district as a whole are attached.   As a district and as schools individually, ELG continues to perform extremely well.  For the first two years report cards were issued (2013, 2014), both the high school and elementary/middle school rated as schools that “Exceed Expectations” and as a District, ELG earned the same rating.  Due to legislative action and changes in the state assessment, no report cards were issued in 2015.  ELGS again did well in 2016.  As a district, we were rated as “Exceeds Expectations.”  The elementary/middle school received the highest rating of “Significantly Exceeds Expectations” and the high school received the rating of “Met Expectations”—missing the level of “Exceeds Expectations” by .4%.
