With the start of the 2019-20 school year, I begin my ninth year teaching reading at Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Elementary/Middle School. I am thrilled to begin another year of working with students and bring over 25 years of classroom experience instructing preschool-age children through high school age young adults. I am currently the Title I and Response to Intervention (RtI) Reading Teacher at ELGS. It is an honor for me to be a part of the ELG School District and to work with such a talented group of dedicated and caring educators.
Originally, I am from Gladstone, MI, a small town in Michigan's Upper Peninsula . I graduated from Saint Norbert College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in elementary education and an English minor. In 2010 I completed graduate courses and earned my Reading Teacher Licensure from Silver Lake College. As a believer in life-long learning, I continue to take graduate classes in the area of reading instruction and literacy in order to stay current on the research in the area of reading.
