My name is Kris Wells and I am excited to be the newest member of the Elkhart Lake - Glenbeulah Middle School Staff. I grew up on a dairy farm about 20 minutes from Elkhart Lake in the town of Forest . I attended Campbellsport High School and then Cardinal Stritch University near Milwaukee. After college, I spent two and a half years teaching English conversation at a language school in Japan. Then I returned to Milwaukee, where I spent 13.5 years teaching middle school math, reading, and English at Burdick School near the Mitchell Airport. At Burdick School, I also coached Forensics for 10 years and girls’ basketball for one year.
My husband and I have five children between 1 and 10 years old. The eldest three attend ELG with me and the youngest two are still at home. This past summer, our eldest daughter, Kora, played softball for Forest in Elkhart Lake. A very positive community vibe sparked our interest in ELG. We got connected with Mrs. Roehl, took a tour of the schools, and immediately recognized that ELG is something special. We saw a strong community committed to education with a family atmosphere. We quickly knew that Elkhart Lake was the place we wanted to raise our family. As it turns out, our vision quickly became a reality and we are here.
In my free time, I enjoy playing and watching sports, especially basketball, volleyball, football, and softball as well as playing card games such Sheepshead, Euchre, and Cribbage. I am an avid WI sports fan and I like to spend time outside whenever I can. I enjoy spending time with my family whenever possible.
Thank you for the warm welcome that you have given my family and me. We look forward to learning the Resorter Way and contributing to the school and the community.
