At this year's commencement ceremony on Sunday, June 3rd, the 100th graduating class of Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah High School will receive diplomas.
To make this milestone extra special, the Class of 2018 invites alumni of the district and retired administrators, faculty, and staff to attend the ceremony. We will have special seating by decade of graduation for the alumni and special seating for former employees as well.
In the slide show, the class plans to feature not only themselves but also past graduates and classes. If you are an alumna/alumnus of ELGHS and are related to a senior in this year's graduating class, please submit your senior photo to be included in the slide show. Other appropriate pictures from the past are welcome, too.
Pictures should be labeled with your name and address, so that you can get them back, and may be dropped off at the high school office for Mrs. Lund, Sr. Class Advisor, or Mr. Yasko, Yearbook Advisor, between now and May 1st.
In addition to having photos in the slideshow, we would like to have ELGS memorabilia on display in the trophy case for the Month of May and through the graduation ceremony. We have also the EL Chamber of Commerce window reserved to also showcase the excellene of the ELG school experience for the past 100 years If you have items you would be willing to share to put on display, please bring them to the ELG High School Office. This may include letter jackers, letter sweaters, class rings, photos, pep banners, pins, etc. Share your Resorter pride! All items will be returned in mid-June.
We would like to also have your stories from the different decades of students who went through ELGS. If you have some memories/stories to share, please email them to Ann Buechel Haack at email@example.com or mail them prior to her care of c/o ELG School District, PO 326. These memories will be shared on our school website and hopefully enough will be shared to compile for distribution at the graduation ceremony.
Please share your stories with us! We'd love to have some from all the decades. Please let others know, as well. The more who know, the more history we can bring back to life.
These are just a start. More activities to commemorate 100 years of excellence are also being planned. Watch for information on the district's website and in the local newspapers. And mark your calendars for June 3rd at 1:30 pm. We hope you can join us!
