Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah High School FCCLA (Family, Career, Community Leaders of America) sponsored a Thanksgiving Day Luncheon on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. Students were encouraged to invite their grandparents or an elderly neighbor to join them for the luncheon. The menu consisted of turkey & gravy, stuffing, baked potatoes and cheesy potatoes, mixed vegetables, hot rolls, cranberry sauce, ice cream, dessert bars and coffee. Students in the Culinary Arts classes and FCCLA members prepared the food, decorated the cafeteria and served the food for the luncheon. Contests were also held to find who could create the best cranberry sauce and stuffing to be served at the luncheon. Cranberry sauce winners were Katie Sadiq and Delilah Quasius while the stuffing winners were Dylan Kissinger, Waylon Bahrs, and Troy Rebedew. Local businesses Fudgieknuckles, Off The Rail, Anchor Lanes, and Grace Lutheran Church as well as staff, community members and students' families made donations to defray the cost of the meal.
